Descriptions of Net Tubular Elastic Bandages

Net tubular elastic bandages are often used to provide constant, moderate compression to limbs and joints. They are commonly used in situations where regular bandaging is not possible or practical, such as when a limb is at risk of re-injury or when there is swelling present. Net tubular elastic bandages are made from a stretchy material that allows them to be easily wrapped around a limb or joint. They typically have an Velcro closure system that helps keep the bandage in place. Net tubular elastic bandages are available in a variety of sizes and colors.

Benefits of Net Tubular Elastic Bandages

There are many benefits to using net tubular elastic bandages, especially when compared to traditional bandaging methods. Perhaps the most significant benefit is the constant, moderate compression that they provide to limbs and joints. This can be extremely helpful in managing pain and swelling, as well as preventing further injury. Another big advantage of net tubular elastic bandages is that they are much easier to apply than regular bandages. They can be quickly and easily wrapped around a limb or joint, without the need for any special skills or training. This makes them ideal for first-aid situations, where time is often of the essence. Finally, net tubular elastic bandages are also much more comfortable to wear than traditional bandages. They don't constrict movement or cause discomfort like regular bandages can, making them much more pleasant to live with on a day-to-day basis.

Types of Net Tubular Elastic Bandages

Net tubular elastic bandages are commonly used to provide constant, moderate compression to limbs and joints. They are often used in situations where regular bandaging is not possible or desirable, such as after surgery or during physical therapy. There are two main types of net tubular elastic bandages: those with an open weave and those with a closed weave. Open-weave bandages are more breathable and allow for more movement, while closed-weave bandages provide a more robust level of support. Net tubular elastic bandages are typically made from a blend of cotton and elastane, which gives them stretchiness and durability. They can be purchased in a variety of sizes, depending on the area of the body that needs to be covered.

Tubular Elastic Netting

We describe the use of the tubular elastic net bandage for penile dressing in surgical repair of pediatric hypospadias. The tubular elastic net bandages were used in 126 hypospadias boys after corrective operations. The penis was wrapped with silicone mesh netting. Then, the tubular elastic net bandage was put around the penis over the silicone netting. The bandage proved to be well tolerated and effective. After a catheter was removed, a patient could void with the dressing on the penis. The bandage did not need to be changed due to becoming wet during voiding. The tubular elastic net bandage is a very useful dressing for surgical repair of pediatric hypospadias. The necessary bandage materials include the tubular elastic net bandage (Fig. ReliaMed Tubular Elastic Net Dressing) and a mesh netting coated with medical grade silicone gel (Mepitel silicone mesh netting, Molnlycke Health Care). The tubular elastic net bandage is commonly used for finger dressing of different sizes. The mesh netting is made slightly sticky by the silicone gel and therefore may be able to adhere to the penis.
